For new tennis fans it is important to understand that Australian open is one of the four major Grand Slams of the tennis world. On the first round of Men’s single, Federer played against Andreev; in a tough match for Federer as he faced stern opposition from Igor Andreev. The Russian played extremely well on the first set winning it by 4-6. This was a warning bell for Federer who raised his performance and manage to win the second set by 6-2. A thrilling third set played with Federer finally to win the set with 7-6 games. In the forth set Andreev seemed that he got tired and he lost the set with 6-0 and the match with 3-1 sets. Federer stated that Andreev is a great player and he is really happy that he managed to progress to the next round. On the other hand, Andreev congratulated his opponent and blamed himself for luck of concentration in the crucial parts of the game.
Federer will play either Juan Ignacio Chela or Victor Hanescu on the second round.
Serena Williams Vs Urszula Radwanska : 6-2, 6-1
