The UIGEA is back! After years and years of hope for a possible solution to the issue the FBI has taken final and un noticed action by closing down the 3 worlds largest US friendly online poker rooms by seizing the domain names and publishing a warning clearly stating the following:

No real official news have yet been released in regards to the issue but during several visits to the public domain names of the three major operators the same notice has appeared on the websites which clearly states that the three companies have followed in procedures of misleading incorporation of companies and services which in basic notes have been issuing payment gateways on third part companies registered to provide other goods and have used the payment solutions to cater to the needs of the poker rooms ongoing business.

The decision has affected Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and The Cereus Network which powers Ub.com (Ultimate Bet Poker and Absolute Poker).
Poker rooms powered by the Cake network including Cakepoker.com and Doyles Room Poker amongst others have not been affected and continue to accept US clients at the time.

PokerStars and Full Tilt Closed
The past 2-3 years had presented a grey area of conduct of business as the three poker rooms with a main highlight on PokerStars.com and Full Tilt Poker have continued to grow huge and flourish lucrative profits from the lack of a final decision which would affect their business model which more or less was based on major success after the implementation of the UIGEA.

After repeated efforts from the US authorities to prevent the above mentioned companies from operating business in the US by enhancing warnings and closing down processing this decision seems to be the final kill as following in the same example of the case of Wikileaks the domain name has been seized by its registrant and both domain names are now under the control of the FBI.
