Republic of Ireland finished second on Group 8 behind Italy (24 points) with 18 points. France didn’t manage to overcome the obstacle of Serbia (22 points) on Group 7 and finished on second place with 21 points. Portugal on Group 1 managed to gain only 19 points – Denmark finished first with 21. A tough group for Ukraine with England and Croatia to battle for the qualification. At the end, Ukraine manage to overcome Croatia and to finish on second position. England was the boss of the 6th group with 27 points and a first place. Russia was on group 4. They finished second behind Germany (26 points) with 22 points. Finally, Slovenia get the ticket for the play-off matches with 20 points. Slovakia was first with 22 points.
