champsleagueOn Tuesday November 24 and on Wednesday November 25 there will be the games for the fifth day of Champions League. Many famous football teams are playing their last card for qualification. Usually, fifth match day on groups stage is the one that finalizes most tickets not only for the next stage of champions league but also the tickets for the UEFA Europa League.

Champions League Matches on Tuesday November 24, 2009:

Group E:
Fiorentina – Lyon
Debrecen – Liverpool
Lyon has 10 points; Fiorentina has 9, Liverpool 4 and Debrecen 0.
Things are very tough for Liverpool which is heading towards UEFA Europa League. Our estimation is that Fiorentina and Lyon will draw and Liverpool will win. In a scenario like the one we just mentioned, Liverpool will play Fiorentina at the last match day and needs a win with at least 3-0. If Fiorentina wins today then all is over.

Group F:
Rubin Kazan – Dynamo Kiev
Barcelona – Inter Milan
Inter Milan has 6 points; Barcelona has 5, Rubin Kazan has 5 as well and Dynamo Kiev has 4.
Now, this is one of the most exciting Groups of Champions League of the season. If you ask me, Barcelona will win tonight as well as Rubin Kazan (they just won the Russian Championship). If predictions come like this then Barcelona qualifies for the next stage for sure. Inter Milan and Rubin Kazan will have to settle their differences on the last match day at Milano. Any other results will complicate the situation. However, as we speak even Dynamo Kiev can occupy the first spot of the group.

Group G:
Ounirea – Seville
Rangers – Stuttgart
Seville has 10 points; Ounirea 5, Stuttgart 3 and Rangers 2.
Seville has already qualified for the next stage and it is almost impossible to lose first spot. Because of this, there will be plenty of changes on the starting eleven for the side of Seville. This gives an excellent opportunity for Ounirea to grab at least a draw and head for a final against Stuttgart on the last match day. If however, Ounirea wins tonight and there is a draw on the other match they automatically qualified for the next round. For the other match, both teams will do whatever possible to win.

Group H:
Alkmaar – Olympiakos
Arsenal – Standard Liege
Arsenal has 10 points; Olympiakos 6, Standard Liege 4 and AZ Alkmaar 2.
Arsenal is the boss on this group. They have already qualified, however, they will do whatever is possible to win against Standard Liege. A quite straight forward match with Arsenal to be the winners tonight. On the other hand we have the very interesting match between Alkmaar and Olympiakos. This is the last change for the Holland team to fight back for a ticker either for the next change of Champions League or for the UEFA Europa League. If Olympiakos wins tonight then they secure the ticket for the next stage. Draw it is not a good result for any team so I think there will be a winner tonight.

Champions League Matches on Wednesday November 25, 2009:

Group A:
Bordeaux – Juventus
Bayern Munich – Maccabi Haifa
Bordeaux has 10 points; Juventus 8, Bayern Munich 4 and Maccabi Haifa 0.
Bayern Munich will do whatever possible to secure the win. If they manage to do, they have already the ticket for the UEFA Europa League plus they will play against Juventus the last match day for the Champions League next stage ticket. This of course will happen only if Juventus will not manage to win against an excellent Bordeaux side. I think that Bordeaux will manage to get a draw and secure first spot of the group.

Group B:
CSKA Moscow – Wolfsburg
Manchester United – Besiktas
Man U has 10 points; Wolfsburg 7, CSKA Moscow 4 and Besiktas 1.
Manchester United most probably will win tomorrow and qualify on top spot for the next stage. The riddle on this group is the match between CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg. Both teams will do whatever possible to win as the last matches are extremely difficult. I think that CSKA Moscow will manage to grab the win.

Group C:
Real Madrid – Zurich
Milan – Marseille
Real Madrid has 7 points; Milan has 7 as well, Marseille 6 and Zurich 3.
These are the matches that both Real Madrid and Milan must win. Doing it so they will grab the two qualifying tickets for the next Champions League stage and this will be irreversible.

Group D:
APOEL – Atletico Madrid
Porto – Chelsea
Chelsea has 10 points; Porto has 9, Atletico Madrid 2 and APOEL 1.
Porto and Chelsea have already qualified from group D. There will be an open game for those two teams with the draw as the most possible result. Both teams will have many changes on the starting eleven lineups. On the other hand, APOEL will do whatever possible to secure a win and keep the chances for a ticket for the next change of UEFA Europa League alive. Of course Atletico Madrid has the quality to overcome APOEL but the team lacks consistency of results. My estimation is that there will be a winner on this match.
