sportsbook_tennis_125x125_mybannerAustralian Open continues today for the second round matches. As we approach to the final, the matches are getting more and more interesting. Juan Manuel del Potro exceeded himself in order to secure a victory over the American James Blake. The US Open champion needed 4 hours in order to prevail over an excellent James Blake with 3-2 sets.

Earlier, Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick didn’t had any problems in defeating Lacko and Bellucci with 3-0 sets respectively.

The second round of Australian Open continues tomorrow with some very important matches. Make sure to watch the Cypriot Baghdatis against David Ferrer. Ferrer is currently on 17th position of tennis world rankings while Marcos Baghdatis is on 31st spot. However, the young Cypriot champion is at excellent condition and he can secure the victory against Ferrer. Baghdatis was runner up at Australian Open tournament back on 2006 where he lost the match from a high flying Roger Federer.

On some other interesting matches for the second round of Australian Open, Federer will play against the Romanian Victor Hanescu. Federer most probably will not face any difficulties against Hanescu and he will progress to the next round. Number 3 in the world standings Novak Djokovic will play against Chiudinelli and Hewitt against Young. All the favorites are excepted to progress to the next round where the real action will begin.

In women, the number one in the world standings Serena Williams is not expected to have any problems against Petra Kvitova from Czech Republic. Venus Williams will also play that day against Sybille Bammer from Austria and she also is expected to progress to the next round.

Tomorrow also starts the first round of women and men doubles. The most interesting match in women doubles should be the game between Vera Dushevina(RUS) / Anastasia Rodionova(AUS) against Nadia Petrova(RUS) / Samantha Stosur(AUS). In men double game the most interesting one should be the match between Simon Aspelin(SWE) / Paul Hanley(AUS) against Marcos Daniel(BRA) / Daniel Koellerer(AUT).
